What the hell?
I mean it’s no surprise to me my mom and I watch enough home owning television programs so I get the idea that there are some areas of the world where this is kinda normal.
But…God. You’d have to go a significant amount of time out of the city to get anything decent. I’m thinking an hour or two+ out of the city if not more?
Lawds.  

I just don’t get why. Is it just…really really really nice to live there? Are the paving stones made of platinum? Is it just because it’s kinda hip? 

That’s radical. 

Yeah I know… to be honest, it’s probably very political. Vancouver is a very popular place to live, and has a super large migrant population as well. The prices keep getting more and more ridiculous, effectively keeping the poor/lower class right in their place. The middle class has practically disappeared. How can you call yourself the wealthy elite if there’s no one living in the poorer areas? No one doing your labour or unwanted tasks in the community? It’s a completely oppressive practice to keep the sense of order the capitalist government desires. TLDR; it keeps the people in power still in power.

And you know, living outside of the city here wouldn’t be that bad, as it’s very beautiful staying along the coast and going north. But who knows if you can find work up there… I’ve seriously considered moving to Toronto which is a bit less expensive, and family is there to help ;)
